Let us help you make sense of all the nutrition jargon and medical terminology, figure out what healthy eating means for YOU, and get you set up on the right path to reach your personal nutrition goals with evidence-based practices customized to your individual needs
Nutrition counseling is a therapeutic relationship between a client and a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the goal of helping patients adopt healthy eating habits through self-reflection and behavior change. Counseling relationships with a RDN can be one-on-one or geared towards couples, families, or other supportive groups.
Our holistic style of nutrition counseling looks at food not just as fuel, but also as an emotional and social component of your life. We will take away the judgments—the “good” and “bad” labels—and help you create a positive, healthy relationship with food. We will work together to figure out your long- and short-term nutrition goals, identify any potential hurdles, and determine the tools and techniques that will help you to meet your desired outcomes.
In addition to traditional counseling and problem solving techniques, we use culinary nutrition to help our clients to change their relationship to food and achieve their nutrition goals. Culinary nutrition—integrating hands-on cooking and food education with nutrition counseling—will give you the knowledge, skills, and resources to make successful, long-term, sustainable changes in what, when, why and how you eat. We won’t just teach you what to eat, we’ll take you into the kitchen and show you how to choose, plan, prepare, and enjoy meals that will support your nutrition goals and help you to make healthy—and delicious—changes in how you cook and eat.
Changing your diet shouldn’t be about what you can’t eat any more, but rather all the new things you get to have that you never knew existed! We will work together to broaden your food choices and your palate, introducing you or your loved one to a new world of flavors and ingredients to enjoy while supporting your nutrition goals for healthy lifestyle change, weight management, or a specific health diagnosis.
